Tomorrow Kris and I run our first half marathon together (and possibly our last). It’s his first and my second. My sisters want to do destination halves and I might be up for that next year. Kris on the other hand does not enjoy the long runs. Can’t say I’m thrilled with running for two hours but there is some part of it that is just amazing for me.
I really enjoy being in the park for those long runs and couldn’t imagine doing them along a road or any place other than nature. The fact that I can run 13.1 miles and not end up in the hospital or flat on my back is amazing. It means I’m not letting this degenerative back disease beat me. It means I’m fighting it.
It means I will probably be sleeping a lot on Sunday. 🙂
