But over the last five years we have lost three dogs. Each in a different house.
This house has no memories of Pepper or Tasha. This house has memories of Kota though. At some point we will move again and those memories will fade.
On the one hand we won’t feel the pang of loss from those memories, like Kota coming through the dog door. But I miss the memory of Tasha in our previous house. She would push open the bathroom door to come in and say hi. And I miss the memories of the house on 48. Pepper and her dancing feet. Now all we have are pictures.
I don’t like moving because I miss the memories, even the ones that hurt.
